Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 70) ➊ { وَهُوَاللّٰهُلَاۤاِلٰهَاِلَّاهُوَ :} And He is the One Who created whatever He willed and creates, and chooses whatever He wills. He knows what is hidden in the breasts and what is made manifest; He alone is Allah, there is no one worthy of worship except Him. Because these attributes are found in no one else, then how can anyone be His partner?!
➋ { لَهُالْحَمْدُفِيالْاُوْلٰىوَالْاٰخِرَةِ :} All praise in this world and the Hereafter, whoever it is for and whoever it is of, belongs solely to Him, because any praise is for some virtue, and whatever virtue there is and in whomever it is, all is His grant. So, whoever is praised, in reality, the praise is for Him alone. Besides this, whatever He has done, is doing, or will do in this world and the Hereafter, all is praiseworthy. Not a single word or deed of His is such that it could be condemned. That is why the believers praise Him in this world as well, and will praise Him in the Hereafter too. See Surah Az-Zumar (74, 75).
➌ { وَلَهُالْحُكْمُ :} There are two types of commands: one is the creative command (takwini), and the other is the legislative command (tashri‘i). The creative command means {’’كُنْ‘‘} to say, as He said: «{اِنَّمَااَمْرُهٗۤاِذَاۤاَرَادَشَيْـًٔااَنْيَّقُوْلَلَهٗكُنْفَيَكُوْنُ }»[ یٰس : ۸۲ ] "His command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, 'Be,' and it is." This command belongs to Him alone; no one else has this power or authority. He said: «{ وَاللّٰهُيَحْكُمُلَامُعَقِّبَلِحُكْمِهٖوَهُوَسَرِيْعُالْحِسَابِ }»[ الرعد : ۴۱ ] "And Allah decides; there is none to revise His decision, and He is swift in account." The second command is legislative, meaning whatever He has commanded His servants to do or not to do, this too is His exclusive right. To give this right to anyone else is to make him a partner with Allah, as He said: «{ اَمْلَهُمْشُرَكٰٓؤُاشَرَعُوْالَهُمْمِّنَالدِّيْنِمَالَمْيَاْذَنْۢبِهِاللّٰهُ }»[ الشورٰی : ۲۱ ] "Or do they have partners who have legislated for them in religion that for which Allah has not given permission?"
➍ {وَاِلَيْهِتُرْجَعُوْنَ :} That is, after death you will not be returned to any remover of difficulties, fulfiller of needs, giver, supporter, granter of treasures, or benefactor of the poor that you have made up, but you will be returned to Him alone, and He alone will take your account and reward the good with good and the evil with evil. Therefore, do not wrong your soul by associating anyone with Him.

He is Allah—there is no deity except Him. All praise [95] is due to Him in this world and in the Hereafter. His is the command, and to Him you will be returned.
[95] That is, every single thing in the universe and every individual creature is created by Allah Almighty. In this act, no other being has any share whatsoever. Then, from where did these other deities get their divinity and divine powers? By reflecting on every single thing in the universe, it becomes clear that only Allah is worthy of praise, and if any praiseworthy act is performed by any other being, in reality, that too is Allah's praise, because the ability to do praiseworthy deeds is also granted by Him. Then, just as Allah Almighty created the present earth, heavens, and universe, in the Hereafter He will create another earth and heavens in place of the present ones, which will be more enduring than the current universe. Here, His command prevails, and in the Hereafter, His command will also prevail, because He will be the Creator of that world as well. And just as He will create other earth and heavens, in the same way, He will resurrect you and bring you before Himself, and He will hold you accountable for the deeds you did in this world.
