Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 62) ➊ { وَ يَوْمَ يُنَادِيْهِمْ … :} These verses also pertain to the polytheists of Makkah, who, for worldly interests, clung to shirk and to the standard-bearers of shirk. They are being informed of the outcome of this evil deed. Because the words are general, their relation is also to all disbelievers. On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will call out to them and ask two questions; the purpose of both questions is not to inquire, but to humiliate them and to express the helplessness and powerlessness of their partners.

{ فَيَقُوْلُ اَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِيَ الَّذِيْنَ كُنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُوْنَ:} This is the first question that Allah will call out to the polytheists and ask them: Where are My partners about whom you had assumed that they possessed the power to benefit or harm you, and that worldly benefits were being obtained through them, or that they would intercede and free you? See Surah Al-An'am (94).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

62-1 That is, those idols or persons whom you used to associate with Me in divinity in the world, whom you used to call for help and offer vows and sacrifices in their names—where are they today? Can they help you and save you from My punishment? Allah Almighty will say this to them as a form of reproach and rebuke; otherwise, who would dare to utter a word before Allah there? The same subject has been stated by Allah Almighty in Surah Al-An'am, 6. Al-An'am:94) and in many other places.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

62. On the Day when Allah will call them and say, "Where are those whom you claimed as My partners [85]?"

The Fifth Answer to the Objection:

This verse also pertains to the polytheists of Makkah, who wished to cling to polytheism and idols for worldly interests. They are being informed of the consequences of their deeds. On the Day of Resurrection, Allah Almighty will ask such polytheists: You used to think that these worldly benefits were being given to you because of My partners. Now tell Me, where are they today, so that they may benefit you today as well. If today they can benefit you in any way, then consider that they were also benefiting you in the world, and if they cannot benefit you at all, then the reality will become clear to you.
