Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 22) ➊ {وَلَمَّاتَوَجَّهَتِلْقَآءَمَدْيَنَ …:} Allah Almighty accepted Musa (peace be upon him)'s prayer and put him on the path that led to Madyan. Madyan was located a few miles north of "Maqna" on the western shore of the Gulf of Aqaba; today it is called {’’اَلْبِدَعْ‘‘}. At that time, Madyan was outside the kingdom of Pharaoh. The Egyptian government did not control the entire Sinai Peninsula, but only its western and southern regions. The eastern and western shores of the Gulf of Aqaba, where the descendants of Madyan lived, were free from Egyptian rule. Therefore, as soon as Musa (peace be upon him) left Egypt, he headed towards Madyan, because that was the nearest free and inhabited area. However, to get there, he still had to pass through Egyptian-occupied territories and avoid the Egyptian army. That is why he prayed to Allah Almighty to put him on the straight path, so that he could reach Madyan safely. (Tafheem-ul-Quran) ➋ Ibn Abi Hatim, with a Sahih chain, has narrated from Saeed bin Jubair from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that "When Musa (peace be upon him) set out from Egypt towards Madyan, he had nothing to eat on the way except greens and leaves of trees, until his feet became bare. Before reaching Madyan, his shoes broke and fell off his feet. When he sat down in the shade, at that time he was Allah's chosen servant among all creation, and his condition was such that his stomach was stuck to his back from hunger."
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf

The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
22-1. Thus Allah accepted their supplication and guided them to such a straight path by which both their worldly life and Hereafter were set right, that is, they became both guides and guided, themselves rightly guided and also showing the path of guidance to others.

And when he turned his face towards [31] Madyan, he said, "I hope my Lord will guide me to the right way."
[31] Madyan was at a distance of eight days from here and was outside the dominion of Pharaoh. Upon receiving this information from his sincere companion, he turned towards Madyan and, taking precautions and being very alert, set out from there. At the same time, he prayed to Allah Almighty: O Allah! Save me from the clutches of these oppressors and put me on such a path that leads straight to Madyan so that I may reach there safely, away from these oppressors.
