Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 84){ حَتّٰۤى اِذَا جَآءُوْ …:} That is, when they are brought forth, they will be questioned about both their beliefs and actions, and this questioning will be to embarrass and silence them: Was this your occupation in the world, that you denied Our verses without fully knowing and understanding them? The reason for your denial was not that you considered them wrong after fully knowing and understanding them, or then tell what you used to do, as in Surah Al-Mulk the saying of the disbelievers is quoted, He said: «{ وَ قَالُوْا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ اَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِيْۤ اَصْحٰبِ السَّعِيْرِ (10) فَاعْتَرَفُوْا بِذَنْۢبِهِمْ فَسُحْقًا لِّاَصْحٰبِ السَّعِيْرِ [ الملک : ۱۰، ۱۱ ] "And they will say, 'If only we had listened or used our reason, we would not be among the companions of the blazing Fire.' So they will confess their sin, so away with the companions of the blazing Fire." The same is the condition of the innovators, sectarians, deniers of hadith, and those who are overawed by the disbelievers and claim modernity in our times: whenever an ayah or hadith is not understood, without pondering over it fully or asking someone for understanding, they reject it; or if any ayah or hadith seems contrary to their sect's doctrine, they reject it, or interpret it in such a way that is even worse than outright rejection.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

84-1. That is, you did not even try to understand the arguments of My Oneness and invitation, and without this, you continued to deny My signs.

84-2. Because of this, you did not get the opportunity to reflect upon My words.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

84. Until, when they all come together, Allah will ask them: "Did you deny My signs even though you did not encompass them with knowledge [88]? (If not this, then) what was it that you were doing [89]?"

[88] A person denies whatever he does not understand: In this verse, a scene from the Day of Resurrection is presented. The criminals will be divided into separate groups according to their crimes. For example, there will be a separate group for the polytheists, a separate one for the disbelievers, a separate one for the hypocrites, and some commentators have taken this to mean that the deniers will be driven towards the Gathering, and they will be so numerous that those walking behind will be stopped from moving forward. This is as is done to maintain order in a large crowd. The basic meaning of ﴿وزع﴾ is simply to stop or to hold back. Therefore, both interpretations are possible within its meaning.

[89] That is, you had no reasonable cause or argument for denying My verses. Except that those things were beyond your knowledge or understanding. Instead of pondering and trying to understand them, you outright denied them. It became your habit to reject Allah’s verses without any thought or reflection. If this is not the case, then tell Me, what else did you do? Can you prove that after investigation you found these verses to be false? And that you had acquired certain knowledge that what is mentioned in these verses is not correct?
