Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 55) ➊ {اَىِٕنَّكُمْ لَتَاْتُوْنَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً …:} After the interrogative hamzah, the meaning of {’’إِنَّ‘‘} and the lam with emphasis is to express astonishment, that is it really so that you do such a thing which does not even occur to the mind of any person of sound nature.

➋ In the previous verse, only the mention of the indecent act was made; now, to further emphasize the condemnation, the explicit mention of their evil deed is stated: that instead of going to your wives for chastity and obtaining offspring, you go to men merely for the sake of lust, and the reason for this is not that women are insufficient to fulfill your desires, but you are people who are captives of ignorance instead of knowledge, and you are ignorant of the consequences of this evil act, how dreadful its outcome is in this world and the Hereafter. In the world, within a few years, your lineage will end and indecency will spread among your women. One meaning of ignorance is also foolishness and stupidity; when someone starts abusing and behaving indecently, it is said that he has resorted to ignorance, as stated: «{ وَ اِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ الْجٰهِلُوْنَ قَالُوْا سَلٰمًا [الفرقان : ۶۳ ] "And when the ignorant address them, they say: Peace." The meaning is that going to men is not your real need, it is merely foolishness and stupidity because of which you are doing this act.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

55-1. This repetition is for rebuke, that this shamelessness is the same liwat that you commit as unnatural lust with men, leaving women.

55-2. Or you are unaware of its prohibition or of the punishment for this sin. Otherwise, perhaps you would not do this act.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

55. "Do you indeed approach men with lust instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly [54]."

The Consequences of Sodomy:

That is, you are not aware of the outcome of this sodomy. Its result will be that after a few years your lineage will come to an end, and indecency will spread among your women. Or you are unaware of the consequence of this act, that as a result, Allah's punishment will descend upon you.
