فَلَمَّا جَآءَتْهُمْ ءَايَـٰتُنَا مُبْصِرَةً قَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿13﴾
But when Our Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came to them, clear to see, they said: "This is a manifest magic."
فَلَمَّا falammā But when
جَآءَتْهُمْ jāathum came to them
ءَايَـٰتُنَا āyātunā Our Signs
مُبْصِرَةًۭ mub'ṣiratan visible
قَالُوا۟ qālū they said
هَـٰذَا hādhā This
سِحْرٌۭ siḥ'run (is) a magic
مُّبِينٌۭ mubīnun manifest

(Ayah 13) {فَلَمَّا جَآءَتْهُمْ اٰيٰتُنَا مُبْصِرَةً …:’’ مُبْصِرَةً ‘‘} One that shows, opens the eyes, clear, bright. In other places in the Quran, it is mentioned that when, according to the declaration of Musa (peace be upon him), a general punishment would come upon them, Pharaoh and his courtiers would say to Musa (peace be upon him) that pray to your Lord to remove this punishment, then we will accept what you say. But when the punishment was removed, they would break their promise. Obviously, the coming of famine, storms, locust swarms, and other divine armies upon the whole country could in no way be a feat of magic. Even after so many eye-opening signs came, they called them clear magic.
