Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 89) {اِلَّا مَنْ اَتَى اللّٰهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيْمٍ :} By a sound heart is meant a heart that is free from disbelief and polytheism. Some have also taken it to mean being free from innovation, ignorance, and evil morals. Wealth and children will also be of benefit only to the one whose heart is free from disbelief and polytheism.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

89-1. By "qalb saleem" or unblemished heart is meant the heart that is free from shirk. That is, the heart of a believer. This is why the heart of a disbeliever and a hypocrite is diseased. Some say, it is the heart free from innovation and content with the Sunnah; according to some, it is the heart free from the love of worldly wealth and possessions; and according to others, it is the heart free from the darkness of ignorance and moral depravity. All these meanings can also be correct. This is because the heart of a believer is free from all the aforementioned evils.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

89. Except for those who come to Allah with a sound heart [64]."

[64] Verses 88 and 89 can be considered as part of the supplication of Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) or as the statement of Allah Almighty. In the first case, the meaning would be: "Do not disgrace me on the Day when neither wealth nor children will be of any use." That is, my father's wealth will not benefit him on that day, nor will I be able to help him. The only thing that will be of benefit is obedience to Allah. Whoever comes with a submissive heart will be successful. In the second case, these are the attributes of the Day of Resurrection as stated by Allah Almighty.
