Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 82) {وَالَّذِيْۤاَطْمَعُاَنْيَّغْفِرَلِيْخَطِيْٓـَٔتِيْيَوْمَالدِّيْنِ :} That is, on the Day of Resurrection, when Allah will establish the court, there will be no other court, authority, or sovereignty; no one will have any say in His decisions, nor will anyone besides Him be able to forgive sins, as He said: «{ وَمَنْيَّغْفِرُالذُّنُوْبَاِلَّااللّٰهُ }»[ آل عمران : ۱۳۵ ] “And who forgives sins except Allah?” Since I am His monotheistic servant, I have not associated partners with Him, so I hope from Him that on that day He will forgive my mistakes. In this, the humility and modesty of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) is also evident, as he expressed his hope while keeping in view Allah’s majesty and His self-sufficiency. Ibrahim (peace be upon him) mentioned these attributes so that he could assure the polytheists that worship is the exclusive right of that “Lord of the worlds” who possesses these attributes. How can other deities, who can neither create, nor guide, nor provide food, nor drink, nor possess healing, nor control life and death, nor establish the Resurrection, nor set up a court, be worthy of worship?
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
84-1. Here, hope is in the meaning of certainty. Because hope from a great personality is equivalent to certainty, and Allah Almighty is the greatest being in the universe, so hope attached to Him—why would it not be certain? That is why the commentators say that wherever the word عَسَیٰ is used for Allah in the Quran, it is in the sense of certainty. The word خطیئتی is in the singular form (خطیئۃ), but it is in the meaning of the plural خطایا. Although the Prophets (peace be upon them) are infallible, so the occurrence of any major sin from them is not possible, yet considering some of their actions as shortcomings, they will seek forgiveness in the court of Allah.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
82. And from whom I hope that He will forgive my faults on the Day of Judgment [58]."
[58] On the Day of Resurrection, when Allah establishes the court, even then, in His judgment, sovereignty, and decisions, no other being will have any involvement—just as in the aforementioned matters, no one else has any part. And since I have not considered anyone else as His partner in worship, I hope that Allah will forgive my minor mistakes and slips on that day. From this, it is also concluded that whoever has associated anyone else in the worship of Allah cannot expect forgiveness.
