[6] The Signs of Allah in Vegetation:
If one speaks of miracles, is it any less of a miracle that in the same earth, with the same kind of water descending from the sky, and the same sun nurturing the growth of plants, yet the vegetation is not all the same? There are thousands of kinds of plants. In some places, colorful flowers bloom; in others, lush fields wave. The earth becomes fragrant with their scents. Then, there is a special harmony between this vegetation and the needs of the inhabitants there. Despite the countless types and varieties of plants, they too grow, develop, and flourish only according to the laws set by Allah Almighty, and there is a particular order and discipline found in this. In short, there is such a vast field for reflection in vegetation that it has become a branch of knowledge, and for those who ponder, it continually presents new wonders of nature. Now, if a person does not pay attention to these wonders, how can he ever see any sign of Allah?
