Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 60) {فَاَتْبَعُوْهُمْ۠ مُّشْرِقِيْنَ:’’ مُشْرِقِيْنَ ‘‘} can have two meanings: one is that those people set out in pursuit of the Children of Israel as soon as the sun rose, and the second meaning is that they followed them facing towards the east. (Ibn Juzayy) If you look closely at the map, to the east of Egypt is the Red Sea, which extends towards the north; at its end, Egypt is connected by land to the Sinai Desert. It appears that Musa (peace be upon him) headed towards the sea to the east in order to leave Egypt, and while moving north along the sea, he intended to enter the Sinai Desert. However, Pharaoh caught up with them at the sea itself. Now, in front of them was the sea, and behind them were Pharaoh and his army.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

60-1. That is, when morning came and Pharaoh found out that the Children of Israel had left during the night, his pride of power was greatly hurt. And as soon as the sun rose, he set out in their pursuit.
