Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 58,57) {فَاَخْرَجْنٰهُمْ مِّنْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّ عُيُوْنٍ … :} Within a few days, Pharaoh prepared a massive army to pursue the Children of Israel. In his view, this was a very wise act, as he gathered all his strength from across the land so that he could forcibly bring the Children of Israel back into his slavery, or wipe them out from the world. But the plan of Allah Almighty prevails. He turned Pharaoh’s plot back upon him; the great pillars of his kingdom were gathered from all over the land, all the armies were assembled, and all were drowned in the sea at the same time. If he had not gathered armies against the Children of Israel, at most one nation would have slipped from his hands, but his kingdom and means of luxury would have remained. Now, the result of his scheme was that he himself, his armies, and his nobles and ministers, who were the essence of his kingdom, all were drowned in the sea. This was the work of the All-Powerful and All-Controlling: on one hand, He expelled Pharaoh, his entire strength, and the chiefs of his people from their gardens, springs, treasures, and magnificent places, and drowned them in the sea; and on the other hand, He brought the Children of Israel safely out of Egypt and granted them freedom.
