Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 5) ➊ { وَمَايَاْتِيْهِمْمِّنْذِكْرٍمِّنَالرَّحْمٰنِ …:} In Surah Al-Anbiya, Ayah (42), it is stated: «{ عَنْذِكْرِرَبِّهِمْ }» and here it is stated: «{ مِنْذِكْرٍمِّنَالرَّحْمٰنِ }» The relevance is that those for whom you are grieving, their condition is such that when the Most Merciful sends any admonition for their good out of His mercy, they turn away from it. The meaning of {’’ مُحْدَثٍ ‘‘} is that this is their attitude towards the admonition which keeps coming repeatedly, ever new; if it had come only once or twice, what would their state have been? Therefore, do not destroy yourself with grief over them. ➋ Instead of { ’’إِلَّاأَعْرَضُوْاعَنْهُ ‘‘} (but they turn away from it), it is stated: «{ اِلَّاكَانُوْاعَنْهُمُعْرِضِيْنَ}» "but they are those who turn away from it." In this, their continuous aversion is described. ➌ For the explanation of the Qur'an being "muhdath" (ever new), see the commentary of Surah Al-Anbiya, Ayah (2).

5. Whenever a new reminder comes to them from the Most Merciful, they turn away from it [4].
The way to guide these people to the right path is to draw their attention to the signs of Allah in creation (those signs that are scattered throughout the universe) and the revealed signs (the verses sent down in the form of revelation or those verses in which the punishment upon the deniers of truth is mentioned). But these people have turned out to be so unfortunate that whenever any sign or miracle is sent down from Allah, instead of reflecting on it and paying attention, they turn away from it and begin to mock the signs of Allah.
