Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 192) ➊ { وَاِنَّهٗلَتَنْزِيْلُرَبِّالْعٰلَمِيْنَ :} At the beginning of the surah, the mention of the Quran was intended to establish the prophethood and messengership of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Then, those who denied were threatened, and in this context, seven stories of the prophets were narrated, so that the Prophet (peace be upon him) would be comforted and those who denied him would take heed. Now, from here, the affirmation of messengership begins again, and the proofs of the truth of your prophethood and the answers to the doubts of the disbelievers continue until the end of the surah. (Kabir, Qurtubi)
➋ {’’ تَنْزِيْلٌ‘‘} is a verbal noun which is in the meaning of a passive participle, meaning "that which has been sent down." The disbelievers used to deny the divine revelation of the Quran, and for this reason, they also denied the messengership of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Allah Almighty began this surah by saying that these are the verses of the clear Book. After that, to comfort the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and to warn the disbelievers of the evil end of disbelief, He narrated seven stories of the noble prophets, which are clear evidence that this Quran is certainly divine revelation and that he (peace be upon him) is truly the Messenger of Allah. Because if it were not so, how could this Messenger, who could neither read nor write, narrate the events of past prophets and nations? The rule of eloquence is that the more severe the denial, the more emphatic the statement is made. Therefore, it is stated with utmost emphasis that indeed, this is certainly sent down by the Lord of the worlds; neither did Muhammad (peace be upon him) compose it himself, nor is it fabricated by any other human or jinn.
