Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 181 to 183) {اَوْفُوا الْكَيْلَ وَ لَا تَكُوْنُوْا … :} The mention of their deficiency and excess in measure and weight, corruption in the land, and highway robbery has already passed in Surah Al-A'raf (85, 86). For details of the story of Shu'ayb (peace be upon him), see Surah Al-A'raf (85 to 93), Hud (84 to 95), and Al-Ankabut (36, 37). Some people have considered the elder of Madyan, with whom Musa (peace be upon him) spent ten years, to be Shu'ayb (peace be upon him), but this is completely baseless. Not every elder of "Madyan" has to be Shu'ayb (peace be upon him).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

181-1. That is, when you measure out to people, then give in full just as you take in full when receiving. Do not keep separate measures for giving and taking, so that you give less when giving and take in full when receiving!

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Give full measure [106] and do not cause loss to the people.

[106] The people of our master Shu‘ayb ؑ were guilty of fraud in trade and business dealings. The people of Shu‘ayb ؑ were settled at the intersection or crossroads of two commercial highways. Therefore, this entire area became a major commercial center. In addition to polytheism and other moral evils, the greatest disease among them was commercial fraud. They were such experts in cheating in weights and measures that they could outwit even the most cautious. They would weigh in such a way that even if the customer checked the scales a hundred times, they would, right before his eyes, deprive him of a third or a fourth of his due. And when they had to give by weight or measure, they would display the same sleight of hand.
