The Lineage of Sayyiduna Salih (peace be upon him):

For the guidance of the people of Thamud, Allah Almighty appointed as a messenger one of their own, Sayyiduna Salih (peace be upon him). Thamud was the name of the forefather of this nation, and the lineage of Salih (peace be upon him) is as follows: Salih bin Ubaid bin Asif bin Mashih bin Ubaid bin Yawar bin Thamud. In this way, he was a brother to his people. The call of the prophets always begins with the message of Tawheed (the Oneness of Allah). He reminds his people of Allah’s favors—such favors that everyone acknowledges as being from Allah alone. Then the people are invited to reflect: when it is only Allah who showers blessings and favors, why do you associate others with Him in His worship? And if the people do not pay attention to the prophet’s words or begin to oppose his message, then he warns them of Allah’s grasp and punishment. This is exactly what Salih (peace be upon him) did, following this very approach.
