Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 117) {قَالَ رَبِّ اِنَّ قَوْمِيْ كَذَّبُوْنِ : ’’ كَذَّبُوْنِ ‘‘} In reality, {’’كَذَّبُوْنِيْ‘‘} is. When a nation reaches the point that it stones its messenger and Allah Almighty has informed Noah (peace be upon him) that none of them will believe any further (see Hud: 37), then he prayed to Allah Almighty. The words of this prayer are present in the Quran at various places. He said: «{ اَنِّيْ مَغْلُوْبٌ فَانْتَصِرْ [ القمر : ۱۰ ] "Indeed, I am overpowered, so take revenge." And he said: «{ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى الْاَرْضِ مِنَ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ دَيَّارًا [ نوح : ۲۶ ] "My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant." Here, when he said, "My Lord, my people have denied me," this is a complaint before Allah, not that Allah Almighty was unaware and Noah (peace be upon him) was informing Him.
