Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 59) ➊ {الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضَ وَ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا … :} Its exegesis has already passed in Surah Yunus, Hud, and Ta-Ha. Here, the mention of these attributes is also to encourage reliance upon Allah, and in this is also an indication towards the answer to the objection regarding the gradual revelation of the Qur’an.

{ فَسْـَٔلْ بِهٖ خَبِيْرًا:} “The All-Aware” refers to Allah, the Blessed and Exalted Himself, and {’’ بِهٖ ‘‘} refers to {’’عَنْهُ‘‘} (regarding it). In this verse, further actions and attributes have been mentioned for which one should rely upon Allah, that is, rely upon Him who is always living, upon whom death will never come, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself above the Throne, who is exceedingly merciful. The meaning is that regarding the creation of the heavens and the earth, the establishment upon the Throne, and His limitless mercy, what do the People of the Book or the polytheists know? The correct knowledge of their details is only with Allah, so ask Him alone. Elsewhere He said: «{ وَ لَا يُنَبِّئُكَ مِثْلُ خَبِيْرٍ [ فاطر : ۱۴ ] “And none will inform you like the One who is fully aware.” That is, none is as fully aware as Allah.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The exegesis of this verse has been done along with the previous verse.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

59. He who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six days, then established Himself on the Throne [72]—He is the Most Merciful [73]. So ask about Him from one who is well-informed [74].

[72] For the explanation of ﴿استويٰ على العرش﴾, see footnote number 3 of verse 5 of Surah Ta-Ha, and footnote number 54 of verse 54 of Surah Al-A'raf.

[73] The action of ﴿استويٰ على العرش﴾ has, in many places in the Noble Quran, been attributed by Allah Almighty to Himself, and in some places to Ar-Rahman, from which it is understood that Ar-Rahman is also a personal name of Allah Almighty, and the rest of Allah’s attributes, which have been mentioned in the previous verses, can also be attributed to Ar-Rahman.

[74] Here, "Khabeer" refers to such a knowledgeable person who, by pondering over the signs scattered throughout Allah Almighty’s universe, has acquired the knowledge of the recognition of Allah Almighty. Such a "Khabeer" has, in another place, been described by Allah Almighty with the word "Aalim," where, after mentioning many such verses, He said: ﴿اِنَّمَا يَخْشَي اللّٰهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمٰؤُا﴾ [28:35] meaning, only those among Allah’s servants who have knowledge fear Allah. However, by this, those who possess transmitted knowledge of revelation can also be meant, and some prophets as well, for Allah Almighty had also shown them the dominion of the heavens and the earth. In this respect, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is the greatest "Aalim" and "Khabeer," then after him the other prophets, and then after them, those scholars of religion who are firmly grounded in knowledge also join this rank, whether they are scholars of the Torah or of any other revealed book.
