Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 41) ➊ { وَ اِذَا رَاَوْكَ اِنْ يَّتَّخِذُوْنَكَ۠ اِلَّا هُزُوًا:} After mentioning how the polytheists would vehemently deny the Prophethood of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and would continuously raise numerous objections against your Prophethood and the Qur’an, a particular torment from them is mentioned: that when they see you, they make you the target of their mockery.

➋ The phrase { اَهٰذَا الَّذِيْ بَعَثَ اللّٰهُ رَسُوْلًا: ’’ هٰذَا ‘‘} is an indication of their contempt for you (peace and blessings be upon him), meaning: “Is this the person whom Allah has sent as a Messenger?” Firstly, how could he become a Messenger when he is a human being like us, as they say elsewhere: «{ اَبَعَثَ اللّٰهُ بَشَرًا رَّسُوْلًا [ بني إسرائیل : ۹۴ ] “Has Allah sent a human being as a Messenger?” Then look, if Prophethood was to be given to a human, it should have been given to a chief of Makkah or Ta’if. He is neither a king nor a wealthy man, so how did he receive it! Quoting their statement, it is said: «{ وَ قَالُوْا لَوْ لَا نُزِّلَ هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنُ عَلٰى رَجُلٍ مِّنَ الْقَرْيَتَيْنِ عَظِيْمٍ [ الزخرف : ۳۱ ] “And they said: Why was this Qur’an not sent down upon a great man from one of the two towns?” Shaykh ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Sa‘di said: “Such a statement can only be made by someone who is the most ignorant and misguided, and who harbors intense enmity and hostility. His aim is to promote his falsehood.” Elsewhere it is said: «{ وَ اِذَا رَاٰكَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْۤا اِنْ يَّتَّخِذُوْنَكَ۠ اِلَّا هُزُوًا اَهٰذَا الَّذِيْ يَذْكُرُ اٰلِهَتَكُمْ وَ هُمْ بِذِكْرِ الرَّحْمٰنِ هُمْ كٰفِرُوْنَ [ الأنبیاء : ۳۶ ] “And when those who disbelieve see you, they only take you in mockery: ‘Is this the one who mentions your gods?’ while they themselves are deniers of the mention of the Most Merciful.”

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

41-1. At another place it is stated (اَھٰذَا الَّذِيْ يَذْكُرُ اٰلِهَتَكُمْ) 21. Al-Anbiya:36) Is this the person who mentions your gods? That is, he says about them that they do not possess any power. The mere expression of this fact was considered an insult to their gods by the polytheists. Just as even today, if it is said to the grave-worshippers that the pious predecessors buried in the graves do not have the power to control the universe, they say that this is disrespect towards the friends of Allah.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

41. And whenever they see you, they take nothing but mockery of you, saying, “Is this the one [53] whom Allah has sent as a messenger?”

[53] How can these disbelievers of Makkah attain guidance when their favorite pastime is that when they see you, they say to one another: "Ah, is this the one who claims to be the Messenger of Allah?" Was this person the one whom Allah chose for messengership out of all His creation? Look at his status and look at his lofty claim. Are we so blind in intellect that we would accept the truth of his claim?
