Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 26) { اَلْمُلْكُ يَوْمَىِٕذِ الْحَقُّ لِلرَّحْمٰنِ …:} That is, all those temporary and illusory dominions of the world will come to an end, by which man remains deceived, and apparently, inwardly, in form—that is, in every respect—the sovereignty will belong to the Most Merciful alone, and only His command will prevail. And that day will be very hard upon the disbelievers. This too will be a demand of His mercy upon the believers, because the happiness they will attain by seeing their enemies punished cannot be attained in any other way. (Biqā‘ī) Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ يَطْوِي اللّٰهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ثُمَّ يَأْخُذُهُنَّ بِيَدِهِ الْيُمْنٰی ثُمَّ يَقُوْلُ أَنَا الْمَلِكُ، أَيْنَ الْجَبَّارُوْنَ؟ أَيْنَ الْمُتَكَبِّرُوْنَ؟ ] [ مسلم، صفات المنافقین، باب صفۃ القیامۃ والجنۃ والنار : ۲۷۸۸ ] "Allah Almighty will fold up the heavens on the Day of Resurrection, then He will take them in His right hand and say: I am the King, where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant ones?" And see Surah Az-Zumar (67) and Al-Mu’min (16). For the subject of that day being hard upon the disbelievers and easy upon the believers, see Surah Al-Muddathir (8 to 10).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The exegesis of this verse has been done along with the previous verse.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

26. On that Day, true sovereignty [36] will belong to the Most Merciful, and it will be a hard day for the disbelievers [37].

[36]
Sayyiduna Ibrahimؑ Will Be the First to Be Clothed on the Day of Resurrection:

On the Day of Resurrection, obedience and sovereignty will belong to Allah alone, and all people will be raised from their graves completely naked. Thus, Hazrat Aishaؓ says that the Prophetﷺ said: "You will be gathered (on the Day of Resurrection) barefoot and naked." I said: O Messenger of Allah! In that case, men and women will all be looking at each other's private parts! The Prophetﷺ said: "Aishaؓ! The matter of the Day of Resurrection will be far more severe than such thoughts." [بخاری۔ کتاب الرقاق۔ باب کیف الحشر]
And Ibn Abbasؓ says that the Messenger of Allahﷺ stood to deliver a sermon to us and said: "You will be gathered barefoot and naked, just as (Allah Almighty has said in the Quran) He will recreate you as He created you the first time. And among all creation, the first to be clothed will be Hazrat Ibrahimؑ." [بخاری۔ کتاب الرقاق۔ باب کیف الحشر]
Now see, in such a situation, when everyone will be concerned only about themselves, who could even think of kingship, and the kings of the world will be in an even more severe state.

[37] Just as for the believer, the duration of the Day of Resurrection will be made extremely short and easy, for the disbeliever this duration will be long and more severe. Because even in this world, it is an experienced fact that a few moments of calamity seem so much longer and more intense, as if they have been enduring that pain for many years.
