He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Who has begotten no son (children or offspring) and for Whom there is no partner in the dominion. He has created everything, and has measured it exactly according to its due measurements.

(Ayah 2) ➊ { الَّذِيْلَهٗمُلْكُالسَّمٰوٰتِوَالْاَرْضِ :} In this verse, Allah Almighty has mentioned His four attributes which are proof of His oneness. The first is that the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth belongs to Him alone, not to anyone else. He alone is the One Who governs both, and all others depend on Him for their existence and survival.
➋ { وَلَمْيَتَّخِذْوَلَدًا :} This is the second attribute; for details, see the commentary of the last verse of Surah Bani Isra'il. In this is a refutation of the Jews and Christians, and also of those false Muslims who consider the Prophet (peace be upon him), or Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them), or anyone else, to be a part of Allah's light.
➌ { وَلَمْيَكُنْلَّهٗشَرِيْكٌفِيالْمُلْكِ :} This is the third attribute. In {’’ لَمْيَكُنْ ‘‘} there is the continuity of negation, which is why it is translated as "nor has there ever been any partner with Him in His sovereignty." In this is a refutation of all kinds of polytheists, such as idol worshippers, grave worshippers, those who believe in two gods, and those who commit hidden shirk, etc.
➍ { وَخَلَقَكُلَّشَيْءٍفَقَدَّرَهٗتَقْدِيْرًا :} This is the fourth attribute: that He alone created everything, then determined for it a specific measure, by virtue of which only those actions and effects are produced from it for which it was created, and He granted it that form, size, and abilities which were needed according to its requirements. For example, He granted humans understanding and perception, reflection and contemplation, skill and craft, and the ability to perform beneficial tasks. Similarly, every animal, plant, and inanimate object was made according to the purpose required from it. When no one except Allah has created anything, then why worship anyone else? 2-1 This is the first attribute, that is, the only owner of authority in the universe is He alone, no one else. 2-2 In this, there is a refutation of the Christians, Jews, and some of those Arab tribes who considered the angels to be the daughters of Allah. 2-3 In this, there is a refutation of idol-worshipping polytheists and those who believe in (two creators). 2-4 The creator of everything is He alone, and according to His wisdom and will, He has provided every creature with whatever is suitable for it, or He has already determined the death and sustenance of everything.

2. He is the One who owns the dominion [5] of the heavens and the earth, who has not taken a son, nor does He have any partner in His dominion. He created everything and determined it with precise measure [6].
[5] Argument on Allah Not Having Offspring:
That is, the complete authority and control over the entire universe—in today's terms, sovereignty—is in His hands alone. And when this is accepted, all kinds of partners are automatically negated, because everything is owned by Allah and He is their Owner. And since a son is not owned, and we have already accepted that everything is owned by Allah, then any genealogical relationship with anyone is also automatically negated.
[6] What is Allah’s Measure for Everything?
Allah Almighty has created everything, whether living or non-living, and then He has also assigned a function and set laws for each thing, which it cannot transgress. For example, there is no living being that does not have to face death. Everything that comes into existence will certainly perish at some point. It is not possible for water to start flowing upwards at any time, or for it to stop flowing downwards. Nor is it possible for fire to start giving coolness. You cannot feed a dog the finest and most abundant foods and make it reach the height of a horse. In short, Allah Almighty has set certain limits and functions for each thing. And this is Allah’s measure for everything.
