73. And indeed, you are surely calling them [75] to the straight path.
[75] The Meaning of the Straight Path:
That is, these are such clear matters that have always been revealed to every prophet. There is no complexity in them, no intricacy or ambiguity. Their arguments are extremely simple and easy to understand, which even affect a villager or a Bedouin. There is no need for extensive education to understand them. For example, someone once asked a Bedouin whether the existence of Allah Almighty is real. He replied, "Yes, it is!" The questioner asked again, "How so?" The Bedouin said, "If we see camel droppings on the road, we deduce that a camel has surely passed by here. In the same way, when we see such a vast system of the universe, we inevitably conclude that there must be a Creator for it." Similarly, we see that if there are two rulers in a house, its system never remains correct; then how is it possible that in this universe there could be any owner or sovereign besides Allah? If such were the case, the system of the universe could not function even for a single day. Likewise, we also observe that Allah Almighty, at all times and in every era, brings forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living. All the foods that humans eat are lifeless. After several stages, it is from these foods that a drop of semen is formed, and then from this drop, a living, breathing human being is created, in whom even the traits, habits, and features of his parents are reflected. From this, it can easily be inferred that the works that are happening before us at every moment in this world—why should they be impossible after a person’s death? In short, if you reflect on the fundamental teachings of the religion, all matters will appear straight, simple, and easy to understand, and these very fundamental matters are the straight path of Allah.
