Or say they: There is madness in him? Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. Tauhîd: Worshipping Allâh Alone in all aspects, the Qur’ân and the religion of Islâm], but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth.

(Ayah 70) ➊ The tanween on {اَمْيَقُوْلُوْنَبِهٖجِنَّةٌ …:’’ جِنَّةٌ ‘‘} is for indefiniteness, meaning they say that he has some kind of madness. The fourth reason for their denial could be that they say he has some kind of madness and truly consider you to be insane or mad. Obviously, this is not the real reason either, because they stubbornly say whatever they want with their tongues, but in their hearts, they acknowledge your ﷺ perfect wisdom, as they themselves gave you the titles of Truthful and Trustworthy. Is such a title ever given to madmen? Then, what kind of madman is he (or, according to the nonsense of the orientalists, a patient of epileptic fits) that during his madness or epileptic fits, words like the Qur’an come from his tongue, the smallest surah of which the entire universe is unable to match, and which, in a short span of twenty-three (23) years, turned the whole world upside down.
➋ { بَلْجَآءَهُمْبِالْحَقِّوَاَكْثَرُهُمْلِلْحَقِّكٰرِهُوْنَ :} When this is not the case either, the conclusion is that the message this Messenger has presented is the truth, while most of them dislike the truth, because it goes against their unbridled desires and animalistic traits. Thus, due to their stubbornness and obstinacy, they are not ready to accept this true message. It is said: “Most of them dislike the truth.” Because those who loved the truth have already believed.

70-1. This too is in the manner of rebuke and reprimand, meaning that this Prophet has presented such a Qur'an, the like of which the world is incapable of producing. Similarly, its teachings are a source of mercy and peace and tranquility for mankind. Can such a Qur'an and such teachings be presented by a person who is insane or mad?
70-2. That is, the real reason for their aversion and arrogance is their dislike (disapproval) of the truth, which has developed within them due to adhering to falsehood for a long period of time.

70. Or do they say, "He is possessed" [70]? Rather, he has brought them the truth, but most of them [71] dislike the truth.
[70] A third possible reason for denial is that these people, considering their Messenger to be insane, do not regard his words as worthy of attention. Even if they call him insane, their hearts never accept this claim. Thus, when the call to monotheism began to spread widely, the chiefs of Quraysh became very concerned. To stop this call, they gathered at the house of Walid bin Mughirah for consultation. Walid bin Mughirah was the uncle of Abu Jahl, and after the death of Harb bin Umayyah, the leadership of Quraysh had come into his hands. Walid bin Mughirah was an intelligent man. He said, "Present your suggestions regarding this matter." Among the suggestions presented, one chief proposed that they would tell people, "He is just a madman." Upon hearing this, Walid bin Mughirah said, "By Allah! He is not insane. We have seen madmen many times. He has neither the suffocating fits of madmen, nor their erratic movements, nor their incoherent speech." [71] Then, when all these things are impossible, the only conclusion is that the message this Messenger is presenting is true and correct, and the only reason for their denial and aversion is that they have developed an aversion to the truth, and due to their stubbornness, prejudice, and obstinacy, they are not willing to accept this truth.
