Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 16){ ثُمَّ اِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ تُبْعَثُوْنَ :} By mentioning the stages of human life as evidence, the main point is stated, which the disbelievers considered impossible: that after a certain period, you will surely be resurrected. If you are in doubt about being raised up, then surely We created you from dust, then from a drop, then from a clot of blood, then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed, so that We may make clear to you. And We cause whom We will to remain in the wombs for an appointed term, then We bring you out as infants, then so that you may reach your maturity. And among you is he who is taken in death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit old age so that after having knowledge, he knows nothing. And you see the earth lifeless, but when We send down water upon it, it stirs and swells and brings forth every beautiful kind." Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: : ۴۸۱۴ ] "Between the two trumpet blasts there will be an interval of forty." The people asked, "O Abu Hurairah! Forty days?" He said, "I do not confirm." They said, "Forty years?" He said, "I do not confirm." They said, "Forty months?" He said, "I do not confirm." (Because the days, months, and years of the world will have been folded up with the sun.) The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Everything of the human body will decay except the coccyx (tailbone); from it the creation will be reassembled."

16. Then, surely, on the Day of Resurrection [17], you will be raised up again.

How Does the Life of the Hereafter Begin After Death?

That is, just as you had no choice in becoming a human from a drop of fluid, and Allah, with His perfect power and profound wisdom, made you pass through various stages and created you, making you a marvelous creation, in the same way, after death, He will make you pass through various stages from the essence of this very body and bring you to life again just as He did the first time. Thus, in Surah Inshiqaq, after swearing several oaths, Allah the Exalted said: ﴿لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَنْ طَبَقٍ meaning, you will certainly have to pass through these stages. Allah the Exalted has mentioned the stages of the first creation at many places, because they are constantly observed by humans, but He has not mentioned the stages of the second life, because neither can they be observed by humans, nor can human intellect comprehend those stages.
