Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 71) ➊ { وَيَعْبُدُوْنَمِنْدُوْنِاللّٰهِ …:} That is, Allah Almighty has not stated in any of His books that He has granted such and such authorities to such and such beings, therefore, for these matters, seek your needs from them; nor is there any revealed or rational evidence that anyone besides Allah has the authority to exercise their will in the universe so that they may be worshipped and supplications may be made to them. See Surah Al-Ahqaf (4, 5) and Fatir (40). When there is neither any rational nor transmitted evidence for shirk, it becomes clear that the shrines people have established for others besides Allah, or considering living or deceased elders as possessors of divine powers, offering vows and offerings to them, circumambulating their graves or their idols, standing, bowing, or prostrating before them, or becoming their attendants and performing I'tikaf at their places, or considering them as fulfillers of needs and removers of difficulties and calling upon them for help—these people have nothing but superstition and blind imitation of their forefathers, which has been refuted at many places in the Noble Qur’an. See Surah Al-Baqarah (170) and Al-Ma’idah (104).
➋ { وَمَالِلظّٰلِمِيْنَمِنْنَّصِيْرٍ :} According to the sequence of the phrase, these words would have sufficed: {’’وَمَالَهُمْمِنْنَّصِيْرٍ‘‘} meaning, they have no helper; instead, it is said: {’’ وَمَالِلظّٰلِمِيْنَمِنْنَّصِيْرٍ ‘‘} meaning, the wrongdoers have no helper, that is, the reason for their deprivation from Allah’s help is their wrongdoing (shirk), that they gave Allah’s right to His servants. These fools think that their self-made deities, fulfillers of needs, and removers of difficulties will help them in this world and the Hereafter, whereas no one will help them, because these wrongdoers have angered Allah by associating partners with Him, so He will not come to their aid, and the other deities, fulfillers of needs, and removers of difficulties do not have the power to help them.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
71. 1. That is, they have neither any transmitted proof which they can show from a heavenly book, nor any rational proof which they can present in establishing the worship of others besides Allah.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
They worship besides Allah those for whom He has sent down no authority, nor do they themselves [99] have any knowledge about them. The wrongdoers will have no helper [100].
[99] There is No Scholarly Evidence for Delegating Powers to Others Besides Allah:
That is, nowhere in any book revealed by Allah Almighty is it mentioned that He has delegated such and such powers to such and such beings. and that, as a result, in these matters you may turn to them and seek your needs from them. Nor have they learned from any scholarly research that anyone besides Allah has the right to exercise authority over the affairs of the universe, and on this basis, it is permissible to worship them as well. Thus, the deities that people have made and attributed various attributes and powers to, at whose shrines prayers are made, vows and offerings are presented, and even circumambulation and retreat are performed for some—these are nothing but ignorant superstitions. [100] That is, Allah will not help them because these wrongdoers have made partners with Allah and angered Him, and their deities will not be able to help them because they do not have such power. Then, what doubt can there be about the wrongdoing and foolishness of such people?
