Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
The sovereignty on that Day will be that of Allâh (the One Who has no partners). He will judge between them. So those who believed (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) and did righteous good deeds will be in Gardens of delight (Paradise).

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 56) ➊ Because of the alif-lam in {اَلْمُلْكُيَوْمَىِٕذٍلِّلّٰهِ : ’’ اَلْمُلْكُ ‘‘}, it has been translated as "all sovereignty," meaning that in the world, temporarily, people also receive kingship, but on that day, no one else will have sovereignty. It is said: « لِمَنِالْمُلْكُالْيَوْمَلِلّٰهِالْوَاحِدِالْقَهَّارِ»[ المؤمن : ۱۶ ] "To whom does sovereignty belong today? To Allah alone, the One, the Dominant." ➋ {يَحْكُمُبَيْنَهُمْ … :} In the world, every person, whether disbeliever, hypocrite, or Muslim, thinks that he is upon the truth and everyone else is wrong; its decision will be made by Allah Almighty on the Day of Resurrection. See Surah Az-Zumar (46). As a result of this decision, those with faith and righteous deeds will be in gardens of blessings. Faith and righteous deeds were the honoring of Allah's verses and His Messenger; in return, the honor of residing in {’’ جَنّٰتِالنَّعِيْمِ ‘‘} was granted.

56. 1. That is, in the world, temporarily, as a reward or as a test, people are also given kingdoms and authority, but in the Hereafter, no one will have any kingdom or authority. Only Allah will have sovereignty and His rule; only He will have complete authority and dominance (اَلْمُلْكُيَوْمَىِٕذِۨالْحَقُّللرَّحْمٰنِ ۭ وَكَانَيَوْمًاعَلَيالْكٰفِرِيْنَعَسِيْرًا) 25. Al-Furqan:26) 'Sovereignty on that Day will belong to the Most Merciful, and it will be a hard day for the disbelievers. Allah will ask, "To whom does the kingdom belong today?" Then He Himself will answer, "To Allah, the One, the Dominant."'

56. On that Day, the sovereignty will belong to Allah alone. He will judge between them [85]. So those who believed and did righteous deeds will be in gardens of bliss.
[85] That is, today every person—whether he is a believer, a disbeliever, a hypocrite, or a polytheist—thinks that he is upon the truth and that whatever he is doing is good. But on the Day of Resurrection, everyone will come to know as clearly as broad daylight that today, sovereignty belongs to Allah alone. All the deception regarding their deities or gods being helpers will be exposed, and Allah will establish testimonies and decide who was upon the truth and who was a liar, or to what extent a certain person was upon the truth and to what extent upon falsehood. Then, according to this decision, people will be recompensed. The people of truth will enjoy the blessings of Paradise, and those who denied the truth will taste a humiliating punishment.
