فَلَمَّآ أَحَسُّوا۟ بَأْسَنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ ﴿12﴾

Then, when they perceived (saw) Our Torment (coming), behold, they (tried to) flee from it.

(Ayah 12){ فَلَمَّاۤ اَحَسُّوْا بَاْسَنَاۤ … :} The meaning of "ihsas" is to perceive through the senses, such as seeing or hearing, etc. {’’ يَرْكُضُوْنَ ‘‘ ’’رَكَضَ يَرْكُضُ‘‘ } (n) means to spur a mount to make it run faster; the intended meaning is to run swiftly, that is, when they perceived Our punishment with their senses, i.e., through their eyes or ears, etc., they fled very quickly.

12. 1. The meaning of "ihsas" is to perceive through the senses. That is, when they saw the punishment or its signs approaching, or upon hearing the sound of the sound of thunder and rumbling realized it, they began to seek a way to escape from it.
