Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 76,75) {فَاُولٰٓىِٕكَلَهُمُالدَّرَجٰتُالْعُلٰى … : ’’ الْعُلٰى ‘‘ ’’عُلْيَا‘‘} is the plural of {’’ أَعْلٰي‘‘}, which is the feminine form of the comparative adjective. The highest of them is Firdaus, from which the four rivers of Paradise flow, and above it is the Throne of the Most Merciful. So when you ask Allah, ask Him for Firdaus." In another hadith, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: رِجَالٌآمَنُوْابِاللّٰهِوَصَدَّقُواالْمُرْسَلِيْنَ ][ بخاري، بدء الخلق، باب ما جاء في صفۃ الجنۃ و أنھا مخلوقۃ : ۳۲۵۶، عن أبي سعید الخدري رضی اللہ عنہ ] "The people of Paradise will look at those above them in lofty chambers as you see a shining star remaining on the eastern or western horizon, due to the difference in their ranks." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! Are these the stations of the Prophets, which no one else will reach?" He said: "Why not? By the One in Whose hand is my soul! These will be people who believed in Allah and affirmed the Messengers." For details about the rivers of Paradise, see Surah Muhammad (15).
