Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 6){لَهٗمَافِيالسَّمٰوٰتِ … : ’’ الثَّرٰى ‘‘} By "beneath the moist clay" is meant the lowest part of the earth, that is, He is not only administering everything from the heavens to the deepest depths of the earth after establishing Himself on the Throne, but He alone is the Owner of all these as well. The dominion is His, the ownership is His. He is the Ruler, and He is the Owner. The existence of everything, its movement, stillness, change, or stability—everything is by His command.

6. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens, and whatever is in the earth, and whatever is between them [4], and whatever is in the utmost depths of the earth [5].
[4] What Exists Between the Earth and the Heavens:
Between the earth and the heavens, there are countless creations of Allah. For example: air, clouds, flying birds and airplanes, ether, angels descending from the sky to the earth and angels ascending from the earth to the sky, evil spirits, planets revolving in the atmosphere at their appointed times, shooting stars—these are things about which we have some knowledge in one way or another. And as for those things which have not come into human knowledge, their number and their reality are best known to Allah.
[5] Where is Allah’s Creation?
The literal meaning of ﴿ثريٰ﴾ is only wet clay, which is in the layers of the earth. And this word is generally used in contrast to ﴿ثريا﴾ (galaxy). ﴿ثريا﴾ refers to the utmost height, and ﴿ثريٰ﴾ refers to the utmost depth or lowliness. Thus, four things are mentioned here: first, the heavens and the creatures residing in them; second, the earth and the creatures living upon it; third, the creatures between the heavens and the earth; and fourth, the inner part of the earth and the creatures present there. Allah alone is the Creator and Owner of every kind of creation, and all are under His power and authority.
