Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The Four Requests of Sayyiduna Musa (Moses) ؑ:

Upon hearing this command from Allah, he assessed his own condition and presented a few submissions. First, he asked: Grant me enough courage so that I may be able to carry out this task, and grant me the success (Tawfiq) to perform it. Second, remove the impediment from my tongue. It is said that in childhood, he had placed a burning coal on his tongue, which caused a knot in his tongue, and he would speak with a stammer. He requested for this knot to be removed so that he could speak clearly and people could easily understand him. Third, for this heavy responsibility, grant me a helper. And fourth, the most suitable person for this task is my brother Harun (Aaron). Grant him prophethood as well and make him accompany me. He is more eloquent in speech than I am. Then, it is a matter of mutual support; at the very least, the two of us will be companions and comforters for each other. Together, we will continue to glorify, sanctify, and remember You.
