On that Day mankind will follow strictly (the voice of) Allâh’s caller, no crookedness (that is without going to the right or left of that voice) will they show him (Allâh’s caller). Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 108) ➊ {يَوْمَىِٕذٍ يَّتَّبِعُوْنَ الدَّاعِيَ …:} That is, on the Day of Resurrection, all people will come out of their graves for gathering, running swiftly towards the caller's voice with their heads raised, as He said: «{ مُهْطِعِيْنَ مُقْنِعِيْ رُءُوْسِهِمْ [إبراہیم : ۴۳ ] “In that state, they will be running swiftly, raising their heads.” There will be no deviation in going towards him, meaning they will go straight like an arrow and will not turn even a little to either side. The depiction of this state can be seen in Surah Ibrahim (42, 43), Surah Qamar (6 to 8), and Surah Qaf (41, 42). The second meaning of {’’لَا عِوَجَ لَهٗ ‘‘} is that there will be no deviation in the caller’s call, that it reaches some and not others; it will reach every person directly.

{ وَ خَشَعَتِ الْاَصْوَاتُ … :} That is, despite the countless creatures running and gathering, there will be no noise or commotion. All voices will be lowered for the Most Merciful. The meaning of lowering for the “Most Merciful” is that, in seeking the mercy and grace of this exceedingly merciful Lord, all will be silent in humility. {’’ هَمْسًا ‘‘} The faintest sound or the slightest footstep, the faintest rustle.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

18. 1. That is, the day when the high and low mountains, valleys, sky-high buildings, all will be leveled, the seas and rivers will dry up, and the entire earth will become a flat plain. Then a voice will be heard, behind which all people will follow, that is, wherever it calls, they will go.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

On that Day, all will follow the caller [76] without deviation, and all voices will be humbled before the Most Merciful, and you will hear nothing but a faint sound [77].

[76]
Effects of the Second Blowing of the Trumpet:

This caller will be the angel appointed by Allah, Israfil. In this world, these people did not even tolerate listening to the words of Allah’s caller; rather, they opposed him. But on that day, they will become entirely obedient to the voice of Allah’s caller, and whatever he says, they will do exactly as instructed. If he says, “Go towards the field of resurrection,” then all will rush in that direction. And they will fully understand the voice and command of this caller.
[77] On that day, everyone will be listening attentively to the voice and command of Allah or this angel; no one will have the courage to ask anyone else anything in a loud voice. On that day, either the sound of their footsteps will be heard, or the whispering and murmuring they do among themselves to escape the terrors of that day.
