Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
10. 1. This is the incident from the time when Musa (علیہ السلام) was returning from Madyan with his wife (who, according to one opinion, was the virtuous daughter of Shu'ayb علیہ السلام) towards his mother. It was a dark night and the path was unknown. According to some commentators, the time of his wife's childbirth was very near and they needed warmth. Or, due to the cold, they felt the need for heat. At that moment, from a distance, he saw flames of fire rising. He said to his family, meaning his wife (or, as some say, since there was a servant and a child as well, the plural word was used), "You stay here! Perhaps I may bring a burning ember from there, or at least get directions to the path from there."
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
10. When he saw a fire, he said to his family [9]: "Wait! I have seen a fire. Perhaps I can bring you an ember from it, or find directions for the path at the fire."
[9] The Going of Sayyiduna Musa to Get Fire:
The beginning of this story is from the time when Musa (peace be upon him) was granted prophethood. He stayed in Madyan with Shu‘ayb (peace be upon him) for eight to ten years, where he married the daughter of Shu‘ayb (peace be upon him). After completing the agreed period, he thought that he should head towards his native homeland, Egypt. During the journey, night fell upon him. It was the season of severe cold. His wife was with him and she was pregnant. It was extremely dark, so he lost his way and could not understand what to do next. He was in a state of great distress. At that moment, he saw a fire from a distance, which was a sign that surely there must be someone present there. So he said to his family, “You stay here, I will go to the people of the fire, so that I may ask them about the way, and also bring some embers of fire, so that you may warm yourselves.”
