Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 92) ➊ This is, for another reason, a refutation of their claim to believe in the Torah: what treatment did you give to Musa (Moses) (peace be upon him), who came to you with clear signs of his prophethood and undeniable proofs, such as the staff, the shining hand, the flood, locusts, lice, frogs, blood, the splitting of the sea, manna and quails, the gushing of twelve springs from the rock, the shade of clouds, etc.? Then, after these signs came, you began to worship the calf—so was this faith in the Torah?
{ مِنْۢ بَعْدِهٖ:} This may refer to after Musa (peace be upon him) went to "Tur" (Mount Sinai), or after Musa (peace be upon him) brought the signs.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

92. 1 This is another proof of their denial and stubbornness: that Musa ؑ came with clear signs and arguments, stating that he is the Messenger of Allah and that the only deity is Allah Ta'ala, but even then you troubled Musa ؑ and, leaving Allah the One, made the calf your deity.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

92. And indeed, Mosesؑ came to you with clear miracles [109], yet in his absence you took the calf as a god, and you were wrongdoers.

[109] These clear miracles were not limited to only the staff of Musa and the shining hand. Rather, there were countless other miracles as well, such as the parting of the sea and the drowning of Pharaoh, the gushing forth of twelve springs from the rock, the descent of manna and quails in the wilderness, and so on. Even after witnessing such clear miracles, you did not believe in the divinity of Allah, and when you got a little opportunity during the absence of Musa, you immediately started worshipping the calf again. What greater injustice could there be than this?
