And seek help in patience and As-Salât (the prayer) and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for Al-Khâshi‘ûn [i.e. the true believers in Allâh - those who obey Allâh with full submission, fear much from His Punishment, and believe in His Promise (Paradise) and in His Warnings (Hell)].

(Ayah 45) That is, in enduring any calamity, seek help through these two things. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) faced any sudden incident, he (peace be upon him) would perform prayer. [ أبو داوٗد، التطوع، باب وقت قیام النبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم من اللیل : ۱۳۱۹، و حسنہ الألبانی، عن حذیفۃ رضی اللہ عنہ ] The scholars have said: "Patience is of three types: patience over calamity, patience in obedience to Allah Almighty, and patience in refraining from disobedience."

45. 1. Patience and prayer are two great weapons for every devotee of Allah. Through prayer, a believer establishes a connection and relationship with Allah Almighty, from which he receives Allah’s support and help. Through patience, one attains firmness of character and steadfastness in religion. In the hadith, it is mentioned that whenever an important matter would arise before the Prophet ﷺ, he would immediately turn to prayer (Fath al-Qadeer).
45. 2. Observing prayer regularly is burdensome for ordinary people, but for those who are humble and submissive, it is easy and even a source of satisfaction and comfort. Who are these people? They are those who have complete certainty in the Day of Judgment. Thus, belief in the Hereafter motivates good deeds, while heedlessness of the Hereafter makes a person inactive or even leads to evil deeds.

And seek help through patience [64] and prayer. Indeed, prayer is difficult except for those who are humble.
[64] The Remedy for Distress and Hardships:
In times of calamity and distress, it has been commanded to adopt patience and prayer as one’s way, for the more one’s mind is occupied with the remembrance of Allah, the more other worries naturally diminish. Some people have also interpreted “patience” here to mean fasting, and it was the blessed habit of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that whenever any distress befell him, he would himself engage in prayer and would also invite his family to do so. And what is patience? Listen to this from the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Definition of Patience:
Anas bin Malik ؓ says that the Prophet ﷺ passed by a woman who was sitting by a grave and weeping. He ﷺ said to her, “Fear Allah and be patient.” She replied, “Go away and mind your own business; you have not been afflicted with a calamity like mine.” The woman did not recognize him ﷺ. Later, people told her that he was the Prophet ﷺ. So she came to his door, and there was no doorkeeper present. She went inside and said, “I did not recognize you (I will be patient).” He ﷺ said: “Patience is only at the first shock of the calamity.” [بخاري كتاب الجنائز باب زيارة القبور]
