Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah167,166){تَبَرَّاَ:} This is from the form "tafaʿʿul" of {”بَرِئَ“}. Due to the addition of extra letters, the translation "will become completely disassociated" has been given, and in {’’ بِخٰرِجِيْنَ ‘‘} the letter "ba" is for emphasis of negation, therefore the translation "they will not come out of the Fire in any way" has been given. In these verses, the miserable state of these polytheists on the Day of Resurrection has been depicted. If only they would believe in Allah's word in this world and save themselves from this end. See also Surah Al-Qasas (63, 64) and Surah Al-Ahqaf (5, 6). From these verses, groups of both ancient and modern scholars have deduced the prohibition of blind following (taqlid), that just as the leaders of shirk whom they followed will disassociate themselves from their followers, similarly the Imams of ijtihad will also disassociate themselves from their blind followers, because all four Imams, may Allah have mercy on them, forbade their own and others' blind following. So, the action from which they forbade the Ummah in this world, they will certainly be displeased with that action in the Hereafter. They will never approve of this stubbornness and disobedience from their followers. (Tarjuman)

166. When those who were followed (the leaders) see the punishment [205], they will disown those who followed them, and all ties between them will be cut off.
[205] In this world, many matters of the realm of causes are hidden from human eyes. But on the Day of Resurrection, when all these causes will be clearly seen, then they will realize that all authority and power belonged only to Allah and still belongs to Him, and we had nothing at all. But at that time, their regret will be of no use, and they will be subjected to severe punishment.
