Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 139) The Jews argued with the Muslims that all the prophets were from among the Children of Israel, so how could this last Prophet be sent from among the Arabs? Our religion is the best and the religion of all the prophets, so in this verse their claim is refuted, for our Lord and your Lord is One, and we are sincere in worship as well, so how can your claim that you are better be correct?

The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
139. 1 Are you arguing with us about the fact that we worship only Allah, that we hold feelings of sincerity and devotion exclusively for Him, and that we refrain from following anyone's commands except His, even though He is not only our Lord but yours as well? You too should deal with Him in the same way as we do, and if you do not, then your deeds are with you and our deeds are with us. We are those who are dedicated to acting exclusively for Him.

Say to them: "Do you argue with us about Allah, while He is our Lord [171] and your Lord as well? Our deeds are for us, and your deeds are for you. And we worship Him alone with sincerity."
[171] The Basis of Allah's Grace and Favor:
The Jews and Christians thought that they were Allah's sons and His beloved ones. Therefore, they alone deserved all His favors and honors. Allah the Exalted replied to this by saying: Tell them that just as He is your Lord, He is also our Lord. He will bestow His favors upon people according to their deeds. And in this regard, we are even better than you, for we worship only Him, while you commit shirk as well. Now you yourselves can judge upon whom His favors and honors should be bestowed in the future.
