Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
By {”الدِّيْنَ“} is meant Islam here, because in the previous verse, the adoption of the same religion of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) is mentioned. Dying in a state of being Muslim is only possible when a person remains Muslim, that is, obedient at all times; if there is ever any shortcoming, he should immediately repent, because death can come at any time. The prophets (peace be upon them) were very concerned about themselves and their children being Muslim at the last moment, because deeds are judged by their endings. The hadith is: [ إِنَّمَاالْأَعْمَالُبِالْخَوَاتِيْمِ ][ بخاری، القدر، باب العمل بالخواتیم : ۶۶۰۷ ] The prayer of Yusuf (peace be upon him) is: «{ تَوَفَّنِيْمُسْلِمًاوَّاَلْحِقْنِيْبِالصّٰلِحِيْنَ }»[ یوسف : ۱۰۱] "Cause me to die as a Muslim and join me with the righteous." Although being a Muslim at the last moment is not in a person's control but in the hand of Allah Almighty, yet the way of Allah is that whoever, with heartfelt attachment, adopts any path—good or bad—and tries to remain steadfast on it, then Allah Almighty grants him the ability to do so. See Surah Al-Lail (5 to 10).

Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
132. 1. Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Yaqub (علیہما السلام) also made a will to their children, which is not Judaism but only Islam, as is clearly stated here, and the details of this will also appear at several other places in the Noble Quran, for instance, that "The religion with Allah is only Islam."
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
132. And Abraham enjoined the same upon his sons, and so did Jacob [164], saying, "O my sons! Allah has chosen this religion for you, so do not die except as Muslims."
[164] Here, Allah, Lord of Majesty, has especially mentioned Yaqub (Jacob), the grandson of Ibrahim (peace be upon them). This is because, except for the Last Prophet ﷺ, all other prophets were from his descendants, and the Children of Israel were also his offspring. They were enjoined to remain obedient to Allah. However, the details of the mischief later committed by the Children of Israel have already been mentioned earlier.
