Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 130) ➊ If { ’’رَغِبَ يَرْغَبُ ‘‘} is followed by {’’ فِيْ ‘‘}, its meaning is to have an inclination towards something, and if {’’ عَنْ ‘‘} comes, its meaning is to be disinterested.
➋ The explanation of { ”مِلَّةِ اِبْرٰهٖمَ“} is coming in the following verses, that is, to worship only Allah and to completely submit oneself to Him. In this verse, there is a refutation of the Jews, Christians, and the polytheists of Arabia, as all three claimed to follow the religion of Ibrahim, but in practice, they were completely disinterested in it, rather, they were strongly opposed to it. They included shirk and innovations in it and made their own separate ways. The Jews made Uzair (peace be upon him) the son of Allah, the Christians believed in three gods, and the worship of the cross was in addition to this. The polytheists of Arabia adopted idol worship. Some of the innovations and superstitions of the Jews and Christians will be mentioned in the coming verses.
{وَ لَقَدِ اصْطَفَيْنٰهُ:} Indeed, from the religion of Ibrahim (peace be upon him), whom Allah chose in this world and who will be among the righteous in the Hereafter, only that person will turn away who, having abandoned reason, makes himself foolish.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

130. 1. In the Arabic language, the word رَغِبَ with the preposition عَنْ means aversion. Here, Allah Almighty is describing the greatness and virtue of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) which Allah granted him in this world and the Hereafter. It is also clarified that turning away and being averse to the religion of Ibrahim is the act of fools; it cannot be imagined from any intelligent person.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

130. And who would turn away from the religion of Abraham [163] except one who makes a fool of himself? Indeed, We chose Abraham in this world for His work, and in the Hereafter he will surely be among the righteous.

[163]
The Qualities of the Religion of Ibrahim:

The meaning of "deen" is to accept the complete sovereignty of Allah Almighty and to acknowledge one's own complete servitude. Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) made his way of thinking and his way of acting entirely subject to the will of Allah Almighty, and he devoted his entire life to the propagation and dissemination of this way of thought and action. He endured with cheerfulness the great difficulties that arose in this path, and this way of life was so beloved to Allah that He made him the leader of the whole world. Now, only a fool could turn away from such a favored way, or someone who is acting with deliberate ignorance.
