Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 112) That is, being a member of any group is not enough to enter Paradise; rather, there are two conditions for it. One is that he should submit his face to Allah; if the face is submitted, then the whole body is submitted, and then whatever deed he does, he does it only for Him, with no one else having any share in it. The second is that the deed should be good (i.e., righteous); this is indicated by {”وَ هُوَ مُحْسِنٌ“}. A righteous deed is only that which is according to the Qur’an and Sunnah. If the first condition is not fulfilled, then it is hypocrisy and showing off; if the second is not fulfilled, then it is innovation and misguidance.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

112. 1 (اَسْلَمَ وَ جْھَہ لِلّٰہِ) 2:112 means to act solely for the pleasure of Allah, and (وَ ھُوَ مُحْسِنُ) means to act with sincerity according to the Sunnah of the Last Prophet ﷺ. These are the two fundamental principles for the acceptance of deeds, and salvation in the Hereafter is based on righteous deeds performed according to these principles, not merely on wishes.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

112. In fact, whoever submits himself to Allah [130] and is a doer of good, his reward will surely be with his Lord, and such people will have no fear, nor will they grieve.

[130] Here, the previous subject is being repeated. That is, verbal claims and false hopes are useless, whether they belong to the Jews, the Christians, the Muslims, or anyone else. For salvation in the Hereafter, it is necessary to have faith in Allah Almighty and to perform righteous deeds in accordance with the requirements of that faith.

The Benefit of Accepting Islam: Previous Sins Are Forgiven:

1. Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri ؓ says that I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: "When a person accepts Islam and does so properly, all his previous evils are removed, and after that, the reckoning will be such that for every good deed, ten to seven hundred good deeds will be written, and for every evil deed, only one evil will be written—unless Allah forgives even that." [بخاري۔ كتاب الايمان، باب حسن اسلام المرء]

2. Hakim bin Hizam ؓ says that I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Please tell me, will I receive a reward for the deeds I did in the time of ignorance, such as charity, freeing slaves, or maintaining family ties? He ﷺ replied: You have accepted Islam on the condition that your previous good deeds remain intact. I said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! By Allah, I will not leave any of the deeds I did in the time of ignorance; I will continue to do all those deeds even in the state of Islam." [مسلم، كتاب الايمان، باب بيان حكم عمل الكافر إذا أسلم بعده]

3. 'Urwah bin Zubair ؓ says that Hakim bin Hizam ؓ had freed one hundred slaves in the time of ignorance and had given one hundred camels for riding in the way of Allah. Then, in the state of Islam, he also freed one hundred slaves and gave one hundred camels for riding in the way of Allah. [مسلم: حواله ايضاً]
