Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 101) That is, all those qualities were present in the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) which were mentioned in the Torah and other heavenly books { ”لِمَا مَعَهُمْ“ } regarding the Last Prophet. In this respect, the Prophet (peace be upon him) was a complete fulfillment of the Torah and the other heavenly books {”لِمَا مَعَهُمْ“} that were with them, but such was the misfortune of the Jews that when he came to them, they denied him and threw the Torah behind their backs, as if they did not even know their own book. (Ibn Kathir)

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

11. 1 Addressing the Prophet ﷺ, Allah Almighty is saying that We have granted you ﷺ many clear signs, upon seeing which even the Jews should have believed. Moreover, in their own book, the Torah, there is mention of your ﷺ qualities and a covenant to believe in you ﷺ, but when have they ever cared about any covenant before, that they would care about this one? Breaking covenants has always been the habit of their group. To the extent that they threw behind their backs the Book of Allah Almighty as if they do not even know it.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

101. And whenever a messenger from Allah came to them, confirming what was with them, a group from those who were given the Book cast the Book of Allah behind their backs [117], as if they did not know.

The Jews’ Setting Aside of the Verses:

Here, once again, the Jews are reproached for their conduct: that according to the signs mentioned in the Torah, the Jews fully recognized the Last Prophet ﷺ. But after refusing to believe, they disregarded those parts of the Book as if they had never known them at all.
