Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 10) ➊ { فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ: } The predicate has been brought forward, which creates exclusivity, therefore the translation is "in their hearts alone."
➋ This is the answer to the question of how it is possible that someone could deceive Allah, Who is the Knower of the unseen, and deceive the believers, who are unsurpassed in insight, and think that he has succeeded in deceiving them. It is stated that the reason is that their hearts are afflicted with such a disease that it has brought them to the ultimate level of self-delusion. That disease is hypocrisy, which is the attempt to conceal disbelief. From this disease, countless other psychological illnesses arise and continue to increase, such as lying, betrayal, breaking promises, breach of trust, and foul language, which the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) has declared to be signs of a hypocrite. Likewise, corruption, self-admiration, foolishness, double-dealing, which are mentioned in the following verses, and many other diseases such as cowardice, greed, miserliness, fleeing from jihad, etc., which are mentioned in Surah At-Tawbah and other surahs.
{ بِمَا كَانُوْا يَكْذِبُوْنَ:} Because the hypocrites are inwardly disbelievers, they were deserving of a great punishment; now, due to their false claim of Islam, they have become deserving of a painful punishment, that is, a double punishment.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

1. By "disease" is meant the same disease of disbelief and hypocrisy, which, if not corrected, continues to increase. Similarly, lying is among the signs of the hypocrites, from which it is necessary to abstain.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

10. In their hearts is a disease, and Allah has increased [14] their disease. And for the lies they have been telling [15], there is a painful punishment for them.

[14] By "disease" is meant hypocrisy, aversion to the religion of Islam, and jealousy and enmity towards the Muslims. Then, as the glory of Islam and the people of Islam increased, their disease also increased. [15] This lie was the same claim they used to make, that:
﴿ اٰمَنَّا باللّٰهِ وَبِالْيَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِ﴾
whereas their actions and their movements were in the opposite direction of this claim. That is why they will have a painful punishment, as Allah Almighty has said in another place:
﴿ اِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ فِي الدَّرْكِ الْاَسْفَلِ مِنَ النَّارِ [145: 4]
Indeed, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire.
