Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The tafsir of this verse may be read with the following verses.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

91. 1. The meaning of ادا is a very dreadful matter and داھیۃ (a heavy thing and calamity). This subject has already been mentioned before that declaring Allah to have offspring is such a great crime that because of it the heavens and the earth could be torn apart and the mountains could be shattered into pieces.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

They have claimed that the Most Merciful has a child [79].

[79] According to the Jews, Uzair is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that Isa is the son of Allah. The polytheists of Makkah used to call the angels the daughters of Allah, and the gods and goddesses of other polytheists are all considered sons and daughters or offspring of Allah. It is as if these people have established a lineage for Allah. This is such an audacious statement regarding Allah that if the heavens, the earth, and the mountains, etc., were to burst apart and shatter into pieces out of terror, it would not be surprising. If, due to this insolence, Allah’s wrath were to flare up and the heavens and the earth were to be blown to pieces, and the system of the universe destroyed and ruined, all of it would be possible. It is only His forbearance that, even after hearing such absurd statements, He does not immediately destroy the world. Accordingly, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas ؓ that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah the Exalted says (as if this is a Hadith Qudsi): “The son of Adam has denied Me, and he should not have done so, and the son of Adam has abused Me, and he should not have done so. His denial is that he says I cannot resurrect him after death. His abuse is that he says I have offspring, whereas I am far above taking a wife or child.” [بخاري، كتاب التفسير، سورة مريم، زير آيت متعلقه، نيز سورة اخلاص]
