(Ayah 86,85) {يَوْمَنَحْشُرُالْمُتَّقِيْنَ … : ’’ وَفْدًا ‘‘ ’’وَافِدٌ‘‘} is the plural of. {’’وَفَدَيَفِدُوَفْدًاوَوُفُوْدًا‘‘ } on the pattern of {’’وَعَدَيَعِدُ ‘‘} means to go to someone. "Wafd" refers to a group of a few people who go to a king or a great personality for some important task or to obtain a gift. {’’ نَسُوْقُ ‘‘ ’’سَاقَيَسُوْقُسَوْقًا‘‘} on the pattern of {’’قَالَيَقُوْلُ‘‘} means to drive animals. Sometimes it also comes in the meaning of making someone move, as He said: «{ وَسِيْقَالَّذِيْنَاتَّقَوْارَبَّهُمْاِلَىالْجَنَّةِزُمَرًا }»[ الزمر : ۷۳ ] "And those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups." {’’ الْمُجْرِمِيْنَ ‘‘} is from the root "jirm" (crime), which is a sin for which the doer deserves punishment. {’’وِرْدًا ‘‘ ’’وَارِدٌ‘‘ } is its plural. {’’وَرَدَيَرِدُوُرُوْدًا‘‘ } means to go to drink water; since one goes for this purpose only when thirsty, {’’وِرْدًا‘‘} means "the thirsty ones." In these verses, the end of the righteous and the criminals is described. In the first verse, the mention is of going to the Most Merciful, not of Paradise, etc., meaning the righteous will go as honored guests of the Most Merciful. In the world, the feet of royal guests do not touch the ground; who can estimate the honor and respect of the honored guests of the King of kings, the Most Merciful, on that day? In the second verse, Hell is mentioned, not the Most Merciful. Because the criminals who do not desist from crime until the last moment are not worthy of any mercy from that Most Merciful who forgives sins greater than the earth and the heavens upon a sincere request for forgiveness. In Surah Az-Zumar (71 to 73), this stage of the righteous and the disbelievers is mentioned in detail.
