Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 6) ➊ {وَاجْعَلْهُرَبِّرَضِيًّا: ’’ رَضِيًّا ‘‘ ’’فَعِيْلٌ‘‘} means {’’مَفْعُوْلٌ‘‘}, meaning the one who is liked, that is, he should be beloved to Allah Almighty and to all people. When Allah likes someone, people also love him, as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ إِذَاأَحَبَّاللّٰهُالْعَبْدَنَادَیجِبْرِيْلَإِنَّاللّٰهَيُحِبُّفُلَانًافَأَحْبِبْهُفَيُحِبُّهٗجِبْرِيْلُفَيُنَادِيْجِبْرِيْلُفِيْأَهْلِالسَّمَاءِإِنَّاللّٰهَيُحِبُّفُلاَنًافَأَحِبُّوْهٗفَيُحِبُّهٗأَهْلُالسَّمَاءِثُمَّيُوْضَعُلَهٗالْقَبُوْلُفِيالْأَرْضِ ][ بخاری، بدء الخلق، باب ذکر الملائکۃ صلوات اللّٰہ علیہم : ۳۲۰۹، عن أبي ھریرۃ رضی اللہ عنہ ] "When Allah Almighty loves a servant, He says to Jibreel (peace be upon him) that indeed Allah loves such and such servant, so you also love him. Then Jibreel (peace be upon him) also loves him. Then Jibreel (peace be upon him) announces among the inhabitants of the heavens that Allah loves such and such person, so you all love him. Then the inhabitants of the heavens love him, and then acceptance is placed for him on the earth."
➋ The supplication of Zakariya (peace be upon him) for a son is mentioned here, once in Surah Aal-e-Imran (38), and once in Surah Al-Anbiya (89). In all three places, the words are a treasure of meanings and a jewel of pearls. Allah Almighty accepted the supplication and made the barren and old wife capable of bearing children, and granted Yahya (peace be upon him). See Surah Al-Anbiya (90).

6. Who will inherit from me and from the family of Jacob, and, my Lord, make him a pleasing person [8]."
[8] The Scholars are the Heirs of the Prophets:
Here, inheritance refers to the inheritance of religious knowledge, because this is the inheritance of the Prophets. As the Prophet ﷺ said «ان العلماء هم ورثة الانبياء»[بخاري، كتاب العلم، باب العلم قبل القول والعمل] "Indeed, the scholars are the heirs of the Prophets." Then, I asked that You make this son of mine pleasing to You; this means that his morals and character should be so pure that he is beloved, accepted, and favored in the eyes of all people.
