Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 50) ➊ { وَوَهَبْنَالَهُمْمِّنْرَّحْمَتِنَا : ’’ مِنْ ‘‘} is for partition, therefore it is translated as "a portion." This mercy refers to prophethood and countless religious and worldly blessings, such as abundance of wealth and children, succession to the Holy Land, prophethood and leadership generation after generation, etc.
➋ { وَجَعَلْنَالَهُمْلِسَانَصِدْقٍعَلِيًّا :} Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) interpreted this as {’’ثَنَاءٌحَسَنٌ‘‘} (good reputation). [ طبری بسند ثابت ] By saying {’’ لِسَانَ ‘‘}, it refers to something associated with the tongue, i.e., fame and renown, just as by saying {’’يَدٌ‘‘ }, they mean kindness, because that is associated with the hand. {’’ لِسَانَصِدْقٍ ‘‘} True renown means that they were truly deserving of that fame and reputation, and their actions validated that reputation, so their mention of goodness was made to remain forever on people's tongues. Thus, Jews, Christians, and Muslims all honor them, and the Durood Ibrahimi in prayer is also a result of the acceptance of Ibrahim's (peace be upon him) supplication. See Surah Ash-Shu'ara (84).
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
50. 1. That is, apart from prophethood, We granted him many other mercies, such as wealth, more children, and then continuing the chain of prophethood in his lineage for a long time—this was the greatest mercy bestowed upon him. That is why Ibrahim (peace be upon him) is called Abu al-Anbiya (the father of the prophets).
50. 2. By "lisān ṣidq" is meant good praise and a beautiful mention. The word "lisān" is annexed to "ṣidq," and then its attribute of elevation is mentioned, indicating that the beautiful mention of him that remains on the tongues of people is truly deserved by him. Just observe that all followers of other religions, even the polytheists, mention Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and his progeny in very good words and with utmost respect and reverence. This is another reward, after prophethood and children, which he received due to migration in the way of Allah.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
50. And We bestowed Our mercy upon them all, and granted them an honourable mention [46].
[46] The Universal Acceptance of Prophet Ibrahimؑ Among All Religions:
All religions and nations honor and praise him, and they connect their respective faiths to him and remember him with good mention. Just as the Ummah of Muhammad always sends blessings upon the Messenger of Allahﷺ and his family in their prayers, they also send blessings upon Sayyiduna Ibrahimؑ and his family. In reality, this is the fruit of the acceptance of Sayyiduna Ibrahimؑ’s prayer [84: 26].
