Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 36){ وَ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ رَبِّيْ وَ رَبُّكُمْ …:} This is the last part and summary of the speech of Isa (Jesus) عليه السلام in the cradle. Its conjunction is with {’’ قَالَ اِنِّيْ عَبْدُ اللّٰهِ ‘‘}, that is, he said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah," after which he mentioned the blessings granted by Allah. In between, from {’’ ذٰلِكَ عِيْسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ‘‘} to {’’ كُنْ فَيَكُوْنُ ‘‘}, there is a parenthetical statement from Allah Ta'ala, then the speech of Isa عليه السلام is completed at this statement {’’ وَ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ رَبِّيْ وَ رَبُّكُمْ …‘‘}. That is, worship is the right only of the One who is our Lord, the One who nurtures me and you, so worship Him alone; this is the straight path.
