Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 15) ➊ { وَسَلٰمٌعَلَيْهِ …:} That is, at these three times, he will remain safe from every distress. Shah Abdul Qadir (may Allah have mercy on him) writes: "When Allah sends peace upon a servant, it means that there is no punishment upon him." (Mawaddih) Sufyan bin Uyaynah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: {’’ أَوْحَشُمَايَكُوْنُالْخَلْقُفِيْثَلَاثَةِمَوَاطِنَيَوْمَيُوْلَدُفَيَرَينَفْسَهٗخَارِجًامِمَّاكَانَفِيْهِوَيَوْمَيَمُوْتُفَيَرَيقَوْمًالَمْيَكُنْعَايَنَهُمْوَيَوْمَيُبْعَثُفَيَرَينَفْسَهٗفِيْمَحْشَرٍعَظِيْمٍقَالَفَأَكْرَمَاللّٰهُفِيْهَايَحْيَيبْنَزَكَرِيًّافَخَصَّهُبِالسَّلاَمِعَلَيْهِ ‘‘}[ طبري : ۲۳۷۵۱، بسند صحیح ] "A person is most fearful at three occasions: the day he is born and sees himself coming out from the place where he was, the day he dies and sees people whom he has never seen before, and the day he is resurrected and sees himself in a great gathering (assembly). Allah Almighty honored Yahya bin Zakariya (peace be upon them) at these three times and granted him the special blessing of being kept safe."
➋ Some of the noble qualities of Yahya (peace be upon him) have already been mentioned earlier in Surah Aal-e-Imran (39).
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
15. 1. There are three occasions that are extremely severe and terrifying for a human being: 1. When a person comes out of the mother's womb, 2. When the grip of death seizes him, 3. And when he is resurrected from the grave, he will find himself surrounded by the horrors of the Day of Gathering. Allah Almighty has said that in these three places, there is safety and security for him from Our side. Some people of innovation try to prove the permissibility of "Eid Milad" (celebration of the Prophet's ﷺ birthday) from this verse, but if someone asks them, then it would also be necessary to celebrate "Eid Wafat" or "Eid Mamat" (celebration of death) on the day of death, because just as there is peace for the day of birth, there is also peace for the day of death. If merely the word "peace" can establish "Eid Milad," then by the same word, "Eid Wafat" can also be established. But where is the celebration of death? In fact, there is outright denial of death itself, that is, by denying the death of the Prophet ﷺ, they not only deny the clear text of the Quran, but according to their own reasoning, they accept one part of the verse and, in the light of their own argument, deny what is established by the other part of the same verse. (ۭاَفَتُؤْمِنُوْنَبِبَعْضِالْكِتٰبِوَتَكْفُرُوْنَبِبَعْضٍ) 2. Al-Baqarah: 85) Do you believe in some of the commandments and disbelieve in others?
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
Peace be upon him the day he was born, the day he dies [16], and the day he will be raised alive.
[16] A person faces only three truly difficult moments, which are inevitably hard: first, the time of birth, both for himself and for his mother; second, the time of death; and third, the time of resurrection after death. It is as if, in the sight of Allah Almighty, he was so beloved that in this worldly life and in the Hereafter, there has never been nor will there ever be a time when Allah's peace is not sent upon him.
