Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 51) ➊ { مَاۤاَشْهَدْتُّهُمْخَلْقَالسَّمٰوٰتِ …:} The greatest proof of Allah Almighty being the only true deity, which He has stated in the Quran and repeated many times, is that I am the Creator of everything; no one besides Me can even create a fly. So then, why abandon My worship and friendship for the worship and friendship of the creation? For example, see Surah An-Nahl (17), Ar-Ra’d (16), Luqman (11), Fatir (40), and Ahqaf (4), etc. In this verse, it is stated that when I created the heavens and the earth, these devils did not exist, so they could not have been My partners in their creation, nor did I make them partners in their own creation. The meaning is that they themselves are My creation, so how did they become My partners and worthy of your worship and obedience? And how did the creation become equal to the Creator?
➋ { وَمَاكُنْتُمُتَّخِذَالْمُضِلِّيْنَعَضُدًا :} That is, I did not take any advice or help from any creation in creating, nor was I ever going to make such wicked and disobedient ones, whose job is to mislead others and spread mischief, My arm, that is, My helpers. I created all creation according to My will, without anyone’s help or advice. Thus, {’’ الْمُضِلِّيْنَ ‘‘ } has the definite article alif-lam for specification, referring to Satan and his progeny. For a verse with the same meaning, see Surah Saba (22, 23).
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
51. 1. That is, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and in their management, and even in the creation of the devils themselves, We did not take any help from them or from any one of them; in fact, they were not even present at that time. Then why do you worship or obey this devil and his progeny? And why do you avoid My worship and obedience? When they are created beings and I am the Creator of all of them.
51. 2. And, hypothetically, even if I were to take someone as a helper, how could I take them, when they mislead My servants and prevent them from My Paradise and My pleasure?
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
51. I did not make them witnesses to the creation of the heavens and the earth, nor to their own creation, nor do I take those who lead astray [50] as helpers.
[50] That is, when I created the earth and the heavens, I neither consulted your deities nor were they present at that time; rather, they were created much later. And even when I created them, I did not consult them about how they should be made. Then how did they become My partners? And even if, hypothetically, I had to take someone as a helper, would I have chosen these wretched ones who are the cause of people's misguidance?
