Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

By (Ayah 83){ وَ اِذَاۤ اَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الْاِنْسَانِ …:’’ الْاِنْسَانِ ‘‘}, what is meant here is a disbeliever or a sinful person; a true believer is not like this. It is narrated from Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ عَجَبًا لِأَمْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِ ، إِنَّ أَمْرَهُ كُلَّهُ لَهُ خَيْرٌ ، وَلَيْسَ ذٰلِكَ لِأَحَدٍ إِلَّا لِلْمُؤْمِنِ ، إِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ سَرَّاءُ شَكَرَ، فَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُ، وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ ضَرَّاءُ صَبَرَ، فَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُ ] [ مسلم، الزھد، باب المؤمن أمرہ کلہ خیر : ۲۹۹۹ ] "The affair of the believer is amazing, for all his affairs are good, and this is for no one except the believer. If something good happens to him, he is grateful, and that is good for him; and if something harmful befalls him, he is patient, and that is good for him." For further evidence, see Surah Hud (9 to 11) and Surah Ma'arij (19 to 35). From this verse, it is understood that if someone is disloyal and ungrateful despite kindness, the benefactor should not stop doing good. Despite the ingratitude of all disbelievers and sinners, Allah Almighty continues to bestow countless blessings upon them in this world.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

83. 1. In this, the state and condition of man is mentioned, in which he generally finds himself in times of prosperity and adversity; in prosperity, he forgets Allah, and in adversity, he becomes despondent, but the case of the people of faith is different from this in both situations.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

83. And when We bestow favor upon man, he turns away and distances himself; but when evil touches him, he is ever despairing [104].

The Condition of a Worldly Person:

The life of an ordinary person is such that when a period of prosperity comes upon him, he completely forgets Allah, and if later a period of hardship and difficulty comes, he begins to speak words of despair. That is, in any condition, he does not think of establishing a relationship with Allah. In contrast, the life of a believer is such that when he receives a blessing, he gives thanks to Allah, and when he faces hardship, he is patient and turns to Allah through prayer and other acts of worship, and in every situation, he maintains his relationship with his Lord.
