Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace them and will say: "Where are My (so called) partners concerning whom you used to disagree and dispute (with the believers, by defying and disobeying Allâh)?" Those who have been given the knowledge (about the Torment of Allâh for the disbelievers) will say: "Verily! Disgrace and misery this Day are upon the disbelievers.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah27) {ثُمَّيَوْمَالْقِيٰمَةِيُخْزِيْهِمْوَيَقُوْلُ …: ’’ يُخْزِيْ ‘‘ ’’خِزْيٌ ‘‘ } is a present tense verb from the Bab If'aal, meaning disgrace. This is even greater than physical punishment, because it is possible that a person may not let the effects of physical punishment appear on his face, but the effects of disgrace are clearly visible on the whole body and face. {’’ ثُمَّ ‘‘} has been brought for relative sequence, that after destruction and ruin in the world, the disgrace and punishment of the Hereafter will be much more severe and never-ending, and Allah Himself will ask them: those whom you had made My partners, and you used to say that so-and-so was questioned in the grave, so he referred to being the washerman of such-and-such saint and was let go; despite the Ruqyah of such-and-such saint, the child died, so that saint, while ascending to the fourth heaven, snatched the bag of souls from the Angel of Death and freed all the souls, and they came back to life; for so-and-so, even though a child was not destined in the Preserved Tablet, such-and-such saints granted him twelve sons. Allah will ask all such polytheists: tell Me, those whom you had made My partners and, despite the foundation being false, you kept fighting and arguing with the monotheist Muslims—now bring them, present them, where are they? What answer will they give? However, the people of knowledge (angels, prophets, and the righteous) will unanimously say that today complete disgrace and evil will descend upon those who did not believe. The sinful among the believers will also be questioned, but complete disgrace will only be the fate of the disbelievers. For details, see Surah Hud (18) {’’ الْخِزْيَ ‘‘} and because of the alif-lam in {’’ السُّوْٓءَ ‘‘}, it has been translated as "complete disgrace."
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
27. 1. That is, this was the punishment that befell them in the world, and on the Day of Resurrection, Allah will humiliate and disgrace them in such a way that He will ask them: Where are those partners of yours whom you had set up for Me, and because of whom you used to fight and argue with the believers?
27. 2. That is, those who did not have knowledge of the religion but were bound to it will answer.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
27. Then, on the Day of Resurrection, Allah will disgrace them [27] and will say, "Where are My partners for whose sake you used to dispute (with the believers)?" [28] Those who were given knowledge will say, "Surely, disgrace and misery are upon the disbelievers today."
[27] This was the fate of those who created obstacles in the path of truth in this world, and in the Hereafter it will be that Allah Almighty will present them before everyone and ask: "Tell Me, where are those fabricated partners of yours whom you set up against Me and about whom you always argued with My messengers in the world? Where are they today, and why are they not coming to your aid?" They will not be able to give any answer to this question, and this very thing will become a cause of disgrace for them before everyone. Then the recompense they will receive for this shirk will be extremely humiliating.
[28] That is, the polytheists will not be able to give any answer to Allah Almighty's question. A silence will descend over the entire plain of resurrection. The tongues of the disbelievers and polytheists will become mute and they will be left dumbfounded. Then, after some time, the people of knowledge, that is, the noble prophets and their followers, will address those disbelievers and polytheists and say: Did we not tell you that on the Day of Resurrection you would have to face severe disgrace and a terrible end?
