Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah122) ➊ { وَ اٰتَيْنٰهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً :} That is, He granted him whatever is needed for a pure life in this world, such as guidance to the true religion, the blessing of prophethood, righteous offspring, excellent character, abundant wealth and property, and true fame, etc.
{وَ اِنَّهٗ فِي الْاٰخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ :} Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) himself prayed for this, which Allah Almighty accepted: « { وَ اَلْحِقْنِيْ بِالصّٰلِحِيْنَ } » [ الشعراء : ۸۳ ] "Join me with the righteous servants." Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) also made the same prayer: «{ تَوَفَّنِيْ مُسْلِمًا وَّ اَلْحِقْنِيْ بِالصّٰلِحِيْنَ [ یوسف : ۱۰۱ ] "Cause me to die as a Muslim and join me with the righteous."
➌ It is understood that being righteous is also a blessing from Allah Almighty, but being joined with the righteous on the Day of Judgment is an additional blessing. That is why, at the time of departing from this world, the last words of our Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were: [ اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ وَأَلْحِقْنِيْ بِالرَّفِيْقِ الْأَعْلٰی] [ترمذی، أبواب الدعوات، باب : ۳۴۹۶۔ ابن ماجہ : ۱۶۱۹۔ سلسلۃ الأحادیث الصحیحۃ : ۶ /۶۴۱، ۶۴۲، ح : ۲۷۷۵ ] "O Allah! Forgive me and join me with the highest companion."
